Refugee Week 2025 ended for Salusbury World Refugee Centre on Friday evening with a wonderful event at Salusbury Primary School (where everything began for us in 1999).
Our community came together over food, music, dance and conversation to celebrate Refugee Day. It was a fabulous, warm, and joyful evening, with old friends and new.
So many people worked together to make this happen – demonstrating the amazing power of our community. Special shout-outs to our brilliant host, Ben Bailey-Smith, the many former clients and participants who shared their stories so generously and our amazing team of trustees and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your support means everything.
We also ran our ‘Community as a Superpower’ online auction to help refugee families in London access vital support. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated prizes, placed a bid, or shared our online auction. Because of you, we didn’t just reach our goal, we raised £11,736! These funds will help our Advice Project reach more refugee and migrant families in urgent need of support. Right now, for every family we help, we have to turn away two more. We want to change that, and this takes us one step closer.
Our community is our superpower.. ✨
